Act Too ;) ....again

http://www.ecosme.cn/images/upload/image/lilyth/20091021/P1040557.jpg
Okay, well we've recently read Act 2 of A Doll's House. It seems that Nora basically JUST realized that her life will be over as soon as Torvald reads that letter from Krogstad. After reading the letter, Torvald will know all about the forging of a signature and the money Nora borrowed that she still hasn't paid back. Throughout the Act, you see a different side of Nora. She's a bit of a flirt with Dr. Rank by showing off her silk stockings. The outcome of that was basically Dr. Rank revealing his love for her. That was most definitely not what she expected. That was all on her.

She even asked her children is they'd miss her if she had to leave. She performed her Tarantella for Torvald, stopping him from getting the letter. She kept messing up on purpose so he would stop and help her. That was just too obvious. We started reading Act 3 and it seemed to have a big outcome.

Act 1 - Doll's House ♥

Act 1, to me, was pretty good. It had some things that made you REALLY sit there and think. Being Nora, she's so childish and silly. Not silly as in funny, but more like playful in a way. It kind of irritated me the way Torvald treated her. It's like he considered her an "airhead." Although Torvald has basically no idea what's going on, it seems as if he's a little suspicious. I still don't get why ANYONE would call their spouse "scatterbrain" or what ever else he said. I mean, she did act like a child, so I guess that's how he treated her.

I feel as though Krogstad and Nora have a lot between them. I can't quite put my finger on it. She's so worried about Torvald finding out about the money and forging signatures that she's not even thinking about the positive. What if Torvald is actually happy that she did that? Having someone go through what Nora went through JUST to save my life would definitely make me know that I have someone that I know loves me to come home to. The same goes for Kristina and Nora. It's like Nora doesn't realize the things coming out of her mouth. She makes her life look so much better than Kristina's. She's also very conceited, making it seem like Kristina's not the most prettiest thing. It showed me how Nora really is when she said something like "It's been so long since we've seen each other, but I've been so happy." Ew! I would have had nothing more to say, but to leave.

A Doll's House

SO MY FIRST BLOG WAS A FAIL -.- ugh it's hard to work with this

My name is Cheryl Perumal. The thing I liked most about this year in English class was reading "A Raisin in the Sun." It was such an interesting book that made me see things in whole different way.

So we started reading this play called "A Doll's House." It seems nice so far for reading only the first 3 pages. It was written by Henrik Ibsen, who was a Norwegian dramatist. He created a new perspective in the literary and dramatic world. Truth be told, this story was based on Henrik Ibsen's own personal experience. The title of the play might relate to the play being about Nora, "the one who just happens to get a lot of things her way" may get a big house or something. I honestly don't know what the title has to do with the play or the author. http://www.gradesaver.com/a-dolls-house/study-guide/about/
